Did they really destroy it as visible in the picture about the VW Transporter ? I believe it is too expensive now to do so but everything is possible...

Didn't the 850 have a bad reputation for rust? It probably wouldn't be too hard to find a cheap hulk (even in the US) that could be dressed up just enough to look good on camera.

Difficult to tell when seeing the movie (if CGI, it wasn't too bad), but I'd guess they rather do this kind of things in CGI nowadays, especially for this kind of movie.
