It is indicated that this would be a 1957 model, but in fact there are almost no details visible that could indicate an exact date between 1955 (June 1954, introduction of the vent windows in the front doors) and 1959 (September, when the Dyna [Z] was replaced by the PL 17, who had a alumium strip in the windscreen rubber). Only hint could (and will) be the colour: very light slightly blueish grey was called Gris Ascot, and was available only for model year 1959 on the [Z11] and the [Z16]. Also the vent window doesn't have a metal frame any more (since March 1958) and these were not supplied to the very basic [Z11] Luxe. The bay between rear seats and rear window doesn't have any deco-strips, which excludes the Grand Standing version, so it has to be a 1959 [Z16] Grand Luxe. |
