Even if not "called" that way by Toyota (hence why it is not in the model name), it is still often referred to using "mk", no?

The front lip doesn't say BOMEX Type 4, and the side skirts don't even say BOMEX Type 4.
The front lip is actually a BOMEX Type 2 front lip, and the side skirts are BOMEX Type 1 side steps, with an aftermarket rear under spoiler by Toyota (it's from the Supra RZ-S).

Agreed. "mkX" is like a simpler equivalent to "Xth gen".

For example: Let's say you have a 1999 AP1 S2000. In here we say it as the simpler "S2000 MkI" while other sites cite it as the more complex "S2000 1st gen".

The Mk. IV just means it's a 4th generation. However, it was something Americans started. Toyota has never officially adopted the usage of Mark terms for their generations. And yes, it is often used by everyone.
