Why "Picnic" |
◊ 2012-04-16 15:20 |
Because of the box on the roof? |
◊ 2012-04-16 15:28 |
And all the stuff in the boot? |

Not so much a genuine model as a tribute to the Type 2 "Camper", I guess. Both informal names..... |

The best picnics are simply a couple of sandwiches and a bottle of fizzy pop. |

For ingo - this is what your supper originally looked like before being tinned, and how it was caught - http://foxymitts.deviantart.com/art/The-Wild-Haggis-165830047 . |

I can't stand the stuff. Am I going to have to change my flag after saying that? I don't like tartan either and my accent has been described as everything from Aussie to Scouse to Brummie so my Scottish credentials are quite low. -- Last edit: 2012-04-17 00:27:20 |

Don't ask me - my lack of entrenched Caledonian pedigree means I can not comment on the worthiness or not of other claimants . It is a matter for your conscience ..... I do however like haggis. |

It seems, that the bad expectations come true, that you both aren't British enough Despite fizzy pop-drinks are too chavvish for an authentic picnic, noone has mentioned the pic, needed for a real picnic: Link to "caledonia.ch" (top photo left) Odd, the motif on the pic is not Scottish and often not liked by Scotsmen, but in Switzerland they see it not that strict, if you note the name of the company http://www.caledonia.ch/erlebnisse/limousine-service-picknick/ -- Last edit: 2012-04-17 12:32:19 |

I think we're both British enough - it's more about the subdivisions underneath. A bit like the relative degrees of VWness or NSUness. |

No relatives! Antipodes! I will never forget the funny incident on the NSU-meeting in 1998, mentioned here: /vehicle.php?id=150554 You should see, how carefully hardcore-NSU-fetishists are scratching off any VW/Audi-logos from parts, when they restore their cars (from parts, identical with the K 70, like the oil filler cap or the valve-lids). Or how they built a NSU-prototype-looking-grille for their K 70ies (a fully accepted NSU since decades): breaking three VW-grilles into pieces and agglutinate the splinters for one VW-logo-less part. |
