I think this is an Aus assembled Mini from door handle insets and quarterlights pretending to be UK car. 1968+ Mk2 rear lights, but probably a good few years later - can anyone pursue local dating?

Could it be doctored from a Radford Mini de Ville?

If the number plate is to be believed, the 'L' puts it around 1973.

However, I'm not a Mini expert but I wouldn't expect to see the external door hinges on a '73.

This was filmed in Australia and the number plate is fake. Minis were made in Australia and dsl has already mentioned various detail differences from UK-made cars.

Are road marking and the plastic pylons Aussie-spec or British-spec? And the traffic sign on the left?
As the cars are disguised, you need such details for the correct identifying.

The cones aren't British. :)

There's a fake British road sign behind the Leyland petrol tanker.

As no-one else has come in with Aus info, I'll go for this as March 73 onwards Leyland Mini (no extra names) - an Aus mixture of Clubman front (as the higher bumper end just visible), Aus door windows and door handles, external hinges - as described and pictured in http://miniexperience.com.au/issue-20/leyland-mini.html . It could be slightly earlier as I'm unsure if this one has headrests (so might have had Clubman name) but I'll stick to matching details with the pictured Mini on that page; this one has accessory shop wheels.

Another Leyland Mini with Clubman front picture at Link to "www.flickr.com" in a photo set of interesting local BMC/Leyland versions.

Useful to have this new main pic, but can we have the old one back as a thumb because none of these comments make sense without it and the front view has none of the features which enable identification as anything more precise than a normal UK-spec Mini Clubman.

There were two identical mini's used in making Killer Elite one was written off and I happened to buy the other one. The one I have is a 1972 Clubman made in Australia where the movie was mostly filmed. The mini has Hydrolastic suspension and 1100 cc engine. It still has the mark from being keyed down the side on the passenger side so this one was used in the street fight scene.

vilero wrote I don't know if this is the same as /vehicle_433514-Leyland-Mini-YDO21-1973.html with different plates
dsl wrote It is the same make and model as Aus-built Leyland Mini from about 71-73 and is useful for showing the Aus differences from UK Clubman - external door hinges, door handles, quarterlights etc. These details were apparent on the early photos on that page, but disappeared when the photo was changed. Also a comment there that 2 cars were used in filming - one crashing into a truck as the old photos showed. Suggest merge the pages.
