rear part of body is higher and has got a specific bump on the Alfa 158 or 159 , not present on this car, then I doubt it could be such a type of Alfa the global shape remind the Novi Special - Indianapolis US car, but the problem is that this car is 1951 |

Its a poor picture so the body is not distinct but the grill shape seemed late 1940's alfa gran prix machine |

They look like 158 Alfas - need to check the Indy history site. |

1948 "Novi Grooved Piston Special" or 1949 "Novi Mobil Special" (Kurtis/Novi), #5 Rex Mays and #54 Duke Nalon. This could be 48 or 49 as both drivers raced in both years with the same cars, team and numbers. In 48 Nalon finished 3rd and Mays retired mid race but in 49 both retired before quarter distance. if you can't determine the year you can list them as Kurtis ! since that is the chassis |
