The script on side of the model is seen in /vehicle_396417.html and it reads...? |

It is either a One Sixty or a One Eighty - both were on the same two chassis (127" and 148"wb). That script is the only way to tell them apart externally, although my book does say the 180's windows were bigger. There were four times as many 160s sold as 180s so the chance is greater that it is a regular 160 touring sedan. -- Last edit: 2011-05-05 11:27:42 |

A close-up of the right side... Here are closer shots of the script. I think it says "One Twenty". The script also appears on the left front side if that's any help with an ID... -- Last edit: 2011-05-05 16:43:36 |

Merged here probably the same |

An understandable mistake on my part. The 120 is on the same 127"wb as the bigger cars but has a smaller engine - 282 cid vs 356. -- Last edit: 2011-05-07 05:44:57 |

The car plays the staff car of CINCPAC...The U.S. Navy Commander for the Pacific theater. Since the film was shot in Hawaii, I wonder if the car is still there? Hopefully it survives, not a given considering it's a less valuable Junior series Packard and the film was made in 1964, so the car could have been "just a used car". Also, in case you've never been there, cars do rust in Hawaii. -- Last edit: 2021-01-27 05:03:31 |
