When would "LFF---" have been issued?

If this is a British registration, it's difficult to say. I quote john from staffs in another connection:
Merioneth stopped issuing the unsuffixed registrations at HFF (999?) in 1963, and went on to AFF 1B in 1964, so "OFF" without a suffix is therefore a DVLA issue and could be from a date that doesn't match the Austin in the picture.
Same would apply to LFF.

Worth a try, thanks chris.

Did Sweden have white front retroreflector back in the early 1950's?

I have seen some photos of SAAB 92 with white round thing between the headlights and the grille/front fender.

No trace of LFF 247 plate and agree it is an age-related reissue. I wonder if the car is now "92 B" - a 1955 SAAB 92 B De Luxe /vehicle_484457-SAAB-92-B-1955.html - to explain why there's no plate trace. Can't be many grey LHD 92s in UK of this period, and they look identical for detail like mirrors etc, though "92 B" now has bigger orange indicators. From the DVLA data on "92 B" that registration started in 94 - any idea what this ep date was?

You would be correct dsl. According to ukvehicle.com: 92B is a Grey 1994 Saab. The vehicle previously had the registration LFF247.

kendo wrote This car belongs to me, same one as used previously by Top Gear. LFF 247 was an age related number issued after I completed restoration in 1994, & subsequently changed to 92B. Car was imported to GB in 1964 by an Englishman who had been working in Sweden. Also used in Danger Man, episode called "It's up to the lady", transmission date 23/2/65. Hope this helps.

Yes, Sweden allowed white front indicators and red rear indicators at least until the early 60's.
My 1960 Amazon had those colours, but the 1962 MY had orange indicators. Also my 1960 Ford Zephyr has white front indicators.
