Why RL? It was filmed in West Berlin and not Austria. |

And not just anywhere in West Berlin - Checkpoint Charlie is just out of shot on the left: /vehicle_195566-Ford-M151--MUTT--1960.html |

Were there differences between the Ladas, exported to the DDR and to West Germany? As it's a scene from West Berlin, it can be a visitor from the DDR, too - some Nomenklatura-members were allowed to visit the Western pile in the heart of the DDR. Plus the fact, that the most citizens of West Berlin were strong anti-DDR and anticommunistic orientated, so they avoided to buy COMECON-products ore than West Germans. As the German Wiki about Lada writes, the export to West Germany increased in 1974. Otherwise there were some advertises and articles about Lada in older car-magazines. |

AFAIK, only British versions of 2101 were "special". |
