Ambulance could be Sherpa based but looks very odd (size of rear wheels?).

Black car in front: Is that a Rover P2000?

It's a P6. Whether it's a 2000, 2000TC, 2200 or 3500 I cannot tell from this pic. The jam-sandwich seems to be a Morris Marina. Those were the days when you could still outrun a police car....

Alors Leyland Sherpa?

Sunbar UK

Comparing it with something based on a Leyland Sherpa chassis/cab, the slope and length of bonnet is about right.

However, for me it doesn't look quite right for a Sherpa because the front over-hang (from the front of the vehicle to the front axle) looks too big on the ambulance.

The front wheel's centre is well behind the position of the windscreen. The Sherpa would be with the centre of the front axle just ahead of the windscreen. If the windscreen had been moved forward by the Ambulance maker the bonnet should be shorter.

It's difficult to tell the size of the vehicle, 'Sherpa' (small) or 'Transit' (larger). My first impression that it was Sherpa sized, could be wrong and from the height of the people it could be quite large.
I do not know what it can be at the moment, other than a Sherpa, but I think we need to look elsewhere.

Bê tiens, ce serait pas un LDV series 400 comme celui-ci, l'ambulance? Il me semble que ça collerait plus! /vehicle.php?id=32819

LDV is just the latest version of the Leyland Sherpa.

They are the same. At the time the film was shot it would have been the Sherpa 200 series. The front bonnet looks similar, but the remainder would be by a special coach-builder. Not yet convinced what it actually is.

This is the closest I could find so far. It would be larger than the Sherpa, and that would explain why the wheels look small. It could be Bedford J1 based.....

The side window arrangement looks right and it would explain the front overhang and front axle position. The side doors in the movie appear to be hinged and not sliding however so still looking for something closer.

..I haven't seen this movie for a long time ..but I don't believe the crash is shown.! (..I think all that is seen is the aftermath.!...and the emergency services arriving)

I have seen the film. Crashed blue car is a Morris Marina, crashed yellow car on the right is a Vauxhall Cavalier Mk 1 and crashed yellow car on the left is a Talbot/Chrysler Avenger.

Not a Bedford I'm sure.

The Ambulance is not a Bedford, Sherpa, Ford etc but a very rare Dennis FD4 which Surrey Ambulance service / Rutland Ambulance service used examples of so they may be able to help with more info. Dennis Bros built the vehicles at their works in Guildford. The first prototype was donated to Kingston upon Thames St John Ambulance (reg was EPH 225J)and was later sold to Bletchley Ambulance. There were two prototypes built. The earliest example was registered WPG 174G. GFP 621H was another Dennis FD4 that ended up scrapped after an extensive accident. Searching those reg numbers on the DVLA site would be a quick way if seeing if the other two survive.

Hillman (U.K.) Avenger Mk.1 on left. Vauxhall Cavalier on right. Blue car in the centre is Morris Marina Mk.2 not an Allegro.
