The badge on the hood appears to say Maple Leaf. I did some searching, and apparently the Chevrolet Maple Leaf was a Canada-only model of GM's trucks.

Does anyone know more about these? What I can find is a bit unclear; was it really a Chevrolet or was Maple Leaf the make?

EDIT: Not to be confused with the Maple Leaf Marindo, a Cadillac knockoff from China: http://www.chinacartimes.com/2006/11/16/maple-leaf-marindo/ :p

Models were 2-ton 1800, 2½-ton 1600 and 3-ton 1700, as explained in this page. The hood side badge says x700 (with the 1 looking like a distorted 3), so it can't be anything else than a 1700.
The truck has a pre-war bumper, making it a 1941-42 model.

@elmer, that was quite a mouthful... From what I found, for 1941 1700 series, would you say a 1760 (135” or 3.4m wheelbase), 1770 (159” or 4m wb) or probably the 1780 (177” or 4.5m wb)?

I'll say that this truck seems to have a longer wheelbase than the 135" / 3.4 m one. But I'm really bad at identifying wb or body length in pictures, especially when seen from so far. Saying that this wheelbase is 159" (4 m) or 177” (4.5 m) long would be a guess, for me, so I can't help on this.
