Opel Kapitän. By the license plate (which is for a 'recently' imported oldtimer and does not at all look like plates from before 1951...) it is from 1939. |

If it would have been sold in 1939 in Holland, it would have had the name Super Six. Because of the thread of war the Opel importer in Holland thought it wouldn't be wise to sell cars with a military name, therefore he changed the name to that of its predecessor. It is an Opel Kapitän of 1939. It was imported from Norway some years ago, so it was not assembled in Belgium (where the 1939-SuperSixes were made). The car has the name 'Kapitän' on the hood. |
