Do we really need to put default years on cars like Audis, Mercs, BMWs and VWs which have their own model codes? |

Yes, because there are two A8 D2 models: the 1994+ one, the first model, and the 1999+ one, the restlyng model. And that seems to be a first generation model |

It would be better if you wrote 1994+ or 1994-1998 because in your first comment it looks like it's a 1994-only model. |

That's a good idea Atom, but it should be made for other brands too, otherwise, like you say, it makes us think that this model is specifically from 1994, i like more the "xxxx-xxxx" thing than the one year numbering, unless we know it is exactly form an exact year because things like the plate or other details identify it as such. |

I know what Walter meant, the thing is you can only add one year into the year field. |

True, well Antoine might be able to make it bigger? |

I'd rather have a default year, entering a year range at the top would look a bit clumsy. |

Not a question of being bigger: the year is stored as a number, not as text... And indeed a range is probably not so useful, we have comments for that, it is know that year entered is the first possible year or most probably year in many cases. -- Last edit: 2009-05-11 16:43:03 |

Not every car has comments of it's year i don't see how having a range would be worse, but well, up to you... |
