Is that actually a real SLK which goes flying? It certainly looks like it, but I know this show has a habit of disguising older and cheaper cars to simulate an expensive car crashing (e.g the Phaeton/Omega scene). This episode was from 1999, so the Mercedes would be pretty new and expensive back then. Anybody know? -- Last edit: 2008-06-01 15:37:25 |

Yes, it's most likely the SLK; Daimler AG probably gave it to RTL as a pre-production vehicle before it was scrapped. Most movies have vehicles that are new given to them, but they don't have as much detail and props as the sales model, most likely so the stunt team can fit in a roll cage or other instruments so the vehicle can get damaged and not have to have an expense for the car itself (e.g. Furious 7 with the Lykan Hypersport). |

Mercedes not that much, compared with BMW |

Pretty sure this scene had the biggest pileup in Cobra 11 to date. Also, this episode is from 2001, not 1999. -- Last edit: 2020-06-02 21:37:34 |

1999 is right. Tom's very first episode 'Höllenfahrt auf der A4' was aired in December 1999. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0507458/?ref_=ttep_ep1 Even if many scenes from this pileup were reused from e.g. ep. 'Gift', it seems to be indeed the biggest one. |

You got it mixed up with episode 9.01, I believe. That episode also has a pretty huge pile-up... which, in turn, uses many clips from this one. XD -- Last edit: 2020-06-12 10:10:56 |

IMDb says 7.01 aired November 8, 2001: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0507487/?ref_=ttep_ep1 |

IMDb apparently doesn't list the episodes in the same order. "Schmölders Traum" is a different episode, usually numbered 10.01. |

On IMDb, season 9-13 do not exist, because they started listing episodes in our way with season 14. We list all seasons how they were aried, not in the production way. Like the green column: Link to "de.m.wikipedia.org" |

Replaced the main with the 4 star one from 11.08. Edited Neon’s comment to put the images at the top. |
