This car is on moody plates - you can also see the exact same plates on one of the police Allegro's and additionally a Hillman Imp too. In truth, very few new cars by 1972/2 would be supplied on black and silver plates in any event, as the reflective plates launched to the British market in 1968 by 3M were considered very swish by the average man in the street. The reason that so many older cars now turn up on black plates is because up until very recently, it was surprisingly difficult to buy the period correct items due to a change in government legislation. Happily, that situation is now resolved and anything built from 1968 onwards might well look all the better for them as they're period perfect. -- Last edit: 2021-03-11 14:37:03 |

With this front grille and door mirrors, I would say a circa 1975 one and it looks a Ghia trim. |

GL, not Ghia which was only sold in UK with shield grille and saloon or coupe. |

Adds to the theory of it being his imagination or Gene Hunts made up past as this is a 1975 granada when the series is set in 73. still a great scene |
