Dooch ◊ 2009-12-08 03:50	The photo angle is such that you can't see the pipes. What you CAN see are the screens thru which the pipes pass thru the side of the hood and grille. This is a Cord 812 supercharged Convertible Phaeton Sedan. (Actually, all one can say is that it has pipes -- owners often added these to unsupercharged cars in later years because they felt it was more macho. Brings more $$$ too.) This body style was called a "Victoria" by makes like Packard. It referred to a convertible body with 1 set of doors and two rows of seats, the front ones folding forward for access to the rear seat. The Cord was the first production car to have a retractable quarter window behind the doors. It was manually dropped down on the Cord, cranked down on later cars. Essentially, this was the prototype of the convertibles of the 40s thru the 70s.
