I think the first thumbnail is footage from the explosion of this car: /vehicle_182386-Opel-Vectra-1989.html They have different rear bumpers. -- Last edit: 2012-02-29 15:38:38 (Neon) |

Why do they still destroy these ancent cars? there arn't many of them on the streets. |
◊ 2013-10-31 20:35 |
Because they are cheap. And theyre are still a lot of them existing. Although there are less and less -espcially the Abwrackprämie in 2009 was a reason for that- they are still very cheap. Recventy I've looked at Link to "www.oldtimer-markt.de" and have seen, that the Vectra A is one of the cheapesd (semi-)classic cars at all in Germany. IIRC the average price for a perfect-mint-condition-granddaddy-garage-car with 30.000 km on the clock was 1200 € |

Yes, but a Vectra B is just as cheap and you see more of them on the roads. |

I find the Vectra B design more "extraordinary" (well it is some exaggeration of course) and this way it can be more interesting "classic" in the far, very far future. |

It was a worse car though... The last ever Cavalier is on E-Bay for £3,000 at the moment. No takers so far, unsurprisingly and it has been available some time. -- Last edit: 2013-10-31 20:55:52 |

But not a high-priced classic. Look at the prices of classic Opels. They are still cheap, especially the "bread-and-butter"-versions. |

If you look closely, the Lancia Kappa doesn't hit the Opel. It crashes with something that is behind it. But, of course, this car will surely be destroyed early. My grandfather had also a 1989 model. We had to retire it some years ago because in the last months it had lots of engine problems and went at the mechanic almost every week, but it survived more than most of today's new cars will do. |

what about the Turbo version with 204 PS ? |
◊ 2017-05-24 18:22 |
They may more expensive. I don't have the actual OLDTIMER MARKT price catalogue. |
◊ 2017-05-24 21:32 |
It's rated in a range between 900 € (very bad conditions) and 10.800 € (good conditions). Anyway the prices of the Vectra A seem to be getting higher: in average conditions they have an average price of slighty more than 2.000 € according to the Oldtimer Markt catalogue. P.S. Anyway, I too hate when they destroy cars in movies, even if common cars with not much value. Every car can gain value in the future and deserves some more respect, in my opinion. |

Vectra B princes are almost non existing , many many of them for 300 Euros or less !!! so no surprise that they end up wrecked in a series like this !! probably the only Vectra B which have any value is the limited edition called i 500 which had near 200 BHP WITHOUT a Turbo !! appereantly tuned by Irmscher but was an "official" car -- Last edit: 2017-05-24 21:42:50 |
