This is Gabriele D'Annunzio's real car. The poet, who was a passionate car lover, bought the car on April 12, 1935. In his huge villa on the Garda Lake the car was parked beside the other vehicles he owned, mainly Alfa Romeo and Isotta Fraschini cars. This particular model, bodied by Carrozzeria Touring on the chassis of the Alfa Romeo 6C 2300, was built in only two units in 1932 and this particular one was customized on request of the same poet. D'Annunzio became an Alfa Romeo enthusiast due to his friendship to race driver Tazio Nuvolari The Alfa Romeo was later sold to a business of Busto Arsizio and its plate was changed from the original BS 10764 (visible in this movie) into VA 18580 due to the change of province. In the 1960s the car disappeared from the road and it was considered lost, neverthless it was kept safe by a collectionist until 2017, when the car was auctioned for €430,000. After a legal dispute, the car was then bought back by the museum of D'Annunzio's villa on the Garda Lake ("Vittoriale"), where it's now exposed beside other two cars owned by the poet, a Fiat Tipo 4 and an Isotta Fraschini Tipo 8B.
