It looks very basic, but in 1949 Chieftain was not available in station wagon version (only since 1950), or is this some exported version which differed from the ones in the US? |

Yes, I've seen that brochure before. But the brochure clearly shows a lot of trim in the Streamliner series, whereas here it looks extremely basic, so I've hesitated on this one. But, it looks like 1949 Wagons (which were part of the Streamliner series) were available in 6 or 8 cylinders, 8 or 6 passenger versions, in Standard or DeLuxe trim. I'm guessing this is the Standard model, even though the brochures don't show it ? Yes, the shiny, chromey bits are missing. But if you look at the fourth (4th) thumb, it corresponds to the wood-bodied wagon shown in the brochure. |
