Ligence ◊ 2021-09-10 00:19	In this segment, Clarkson claims that the S1 has "the same ~228hp engine as the Golf R", and then proceeds to complain that it isn't as "accelerative" as the Golf R despite being lighter. However, while both cars are powered by the EA888 engine, the version in the Golf R produces ~300hp; 30% more! The engine in the S1 is very similar (yet not entirely identical) to that in the Golf GTI, having a similar level of power as well, and unsurprisingly the lighter S1 is much quicker than the GTI. Having once driven a 300hp S1, I can confirm that it felt very accelerative.
