Roofline is Chrysler product, fins are 57-58. The height of the red tail lamp makes me think this is some kind of hybrid model like Dodge Mayfair/Kingsway or DeSoto Diplomat sold inside Canada or, more plausibly, Mexico. |

Looks like a 1957 Plymouth to me. |

Yes, for some reason, the blur produced by the light looked like a feature. Here is picture of a different 57 Plymouth's tail lamps illuminated: http://57and58plymouth.homestead.com/files/AS57Savoy03.jpg Impossible to tell if this is a 4 door Sedan or 2 door Club Sedan because the latter also had a rear vent window. The Business Coupe only had a center post. This car has a center emblem on decklid instead of PLYMOUTH lettering, also proving it to be a 57. Here is an image I found: http://faimg1.forum-auto.com/mesimages/256255/3.JPG I don't know if it is the price or the dealer's understated "features list" that makes me chuckle a bit! ![]() |

If the car is seen closer to the camera from this view, look for chrome moulding at the base of the deck lid. I scoured the net for photos that illustrate this, so here goes: 57 Plaza (video only): top video at 3:22 and 4:01 Link to "www.motortopia.com" 57 Savoy: ![]() http://jimsgarage.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/dscn4695s.jpg 57 Belvedere: ![]() http://info.detnews.com/pix/joyrides/2007/exner07/belvederefins.jpg ![]() http://www.flickr.com/photos/morven/16981003/sizes/l/in/set-410092/ Restoration photos sometimes lie about trim or options, but this junkyard beauty doesn't want to show off the lower deck trim piece. http://www.sunmanford.net/br_photo/1957%20P5.jpg -- Last edit: 2008-04-03 09:30:53 |

It's a very cool early 57 with that lower pan the way it is. |
