I suggest the addition of a new paragraph to the IMCDb Constitution: "If a film is produced by the Soviet Union, the original title shall be in the language of the respective SSR, unless the film is specifically produced in Russian" This film was produced by Gruziafilm, the regional production company of the Georgian SSR, and the original title is: "ოჰ, ეს საშინელი, საშინელი ტელევიზორი" (Oo, es sashineli, sashineli televizori") |

Which title should we use, the current one or the one on IMDB? |
◊ 2017-10-27 23:18 |
The Georgian one. The film was produced by the film studios of the Georgian SSR, and the IMDb page uses the Georgian title. |

The matter is, IMDb presents the title in Russian if IP address is within Russia and the movie searched was dubbed in Russian once, like that : ![]() |

I'll follow what Gamer suggested and added the original one to the AKA list. -- Last edit: 2017-10-27 23:38:49 |

The second "sashineli" is missing from the title. In 1990 it was still the USSR ![]() -- Last edit: 2017-10-27 23:38:33 |

This is how IMDB has it listed in English:![]() |

There's only one "sashineli" on IMDb. Please change "uzhasnyi" to "uzhasnyy". |

On the title card it's written twice: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f2Z5_M_eIAQ |

But then what is the point of changing the title? In 1990 Georgia was still the part of USSR too. |

You're right! |

But didn't the region already used the Georgian language? It was not a language created in 1991 |

I would recommend to set IMDb to show the original title and use that:![]() -- Last edit: 2017-10-28 10:37:35 |

Yes of course, but I referred not to the main title in Georgian but to AKA title in Russian and Gamer's remark stating that there was not Russia yet, but the USSR. @night cub wrote "Russia" in brackets and to my mind, changing it to "the USSR" would have made the previously fulfilled change of the main title into Georgian pointless, because then again, there was not Georgia at the time of production, but Georgian SSR within the USSR and the USSR Law of 24.04.1990 "On the Languages of the Peoples of the USSR" established Russian as the official language of the USSR. In my opinion, the only possible correction would be changing "Russia" into "RSFSR". -- Last edit: 2017-10-28 18:05:30 |

Indeed. I changed it to USSR, as that's what we have in the country list for pre-Russia era ![]() -- Last edit: 2017-10-28 18:38:47 |
