Another CFF children's adventure taken from

Children's Film Foundation Bumper Box 2 dvd set - this is the final film from that collection. imdb says 1982 but credits and BFi booklet say 1981. Some archive footage at start, then new footage till end.

Excellent story taken from a Michael Morpurgo book about 2 London lads evacuated during WW2 to a farm in the countryside (un-named but imdb says Buckinghamshire - it looks Englandshire scenery, but there's a lot of Welsh accents among the cast). Lots of adventures and some deep themes, all sensitively handled. One of the best CFF films across both box sets I've posted so far. And it has the return of the compulsory CFF family dog - hoorah!
