When he earns his spot back in the majors by playing dirty and fighting (which seems like it would have the opposite effect), he finds himself charged with manslaughter after a player of an opposing team is beaten to the point where he later dies of his injuries and the movie becomes a courtroom drama for the second half. Starring Michael Moriarty, Kevin Conway, and Meryl Streep in her film debut! Filmed in Connecticut. Airdate: March 16th, 1977
