Note: there are more background cars, but most of them were blurred due to fast-forwarding used in some scenes. There were no rare cars in these scenes, fortunately.

Why do the swedish vehicles have the old licensplates? The change over to the new system was in 1973 and this movie is from 1975?
Was the movie filmed over a period of years?

Indeed, I thought it was strange too. The only vehicle with a new plate I could find was the Volvo 164, but it changed to an old one in a later scene. Here you can see the new plate: /vehicle_494921-Opel-Rekord-1972.html

Your explanation sounds very reasonable. The director was very into this movie, so it wouldn't surprise me if they spent a year or two completing the shooting.

Njet. I was a bit disappointed with the car selection too. Probably wouldn't have been if the whole movie was set and filmed in Norway.
