I had to learn how to use it at my Bundeswehr-times in 1990/91. No kidding, it was still in usage back then. And the clown of Feldwebel wanted to tell me "Oh yes, the technology is up to date". The result of that bullshit was, that I refused the engagement and become petulant. Because at the same time the Kuwait-war started and we saw in TV the US-soldiers launching rockets by some kind of laptops in combination with a rucksack - while at the faboulous West German Bundeswehr for just one of these teleprinters a complete Unimog had been neccessary!

It took around one hour to start the machine and the encryption-gadget was based on the "Enigma" - but two times heavier.
It was all so embarassing...
