Excellent historical film. It's amazing because all the scene are reconstitutions with actors and extras (Algiers city people)filmed with many accuracy as if it was a documentary... the only bad point is about some vehicles which are not in phasis with the story of this battle (1957)

Nice pics of Algiers where I lived when I was kid (1967-1970) ... a beautiful city :love:

sixcyl, this web forum has some recent photos of Algiers you might be interested to see, including the casbah and the waterfront. I think I can recognise some of the streets from the film.

:wow: What nice views of Algiers! thank's very much GH :) ... I'd love so much to come back again in Algeria to see all these wonderful landscapes that were printed in my memory of teenager :love:

I like them too... I've seen during my short holydays last Christmas a very interesting exhibition on Le Corbusier at Nantes (west France), and did some pictures of the UH of Rezé (close to Nantes too ) ...
