 It was on my to-do list since a while.

Made after Pattes blanches (1949) and L'étrange madame X (1951), this is the last long feature film directed by Jean Grémillon, unfortunately for movie-goers, for Grémillon is a master, and this movie a great movie.

Time-tagged. With a curious addition, a probable Citroën faux cabriolet.

L'amour d'une femme est le dernier long métrage de Jean Grémillon. À l'écriture, sur un scénario original de Grémillon, on trouve René Wheeler et René Fallet.

Grande musique d'Henri Dutilleux.

Film réalisé aux Studios de Billancourt, sauf pour les nombreux et beaux extérieurs faits à Ouessant.

Formidable Micheline Presle, Massimo Girotti, très touchante Gaby Morlay, parfaitement dispensable Paolo Stoppa (ne fussent les exigences de la co-production italienne), et Robert Naly, Marc Cassot, Marius David, Yvette Etiévent, Roland Lesaffre, Carette, Jacqueline Jehanneuf (la nouvelle institutrice), etc.

Un film poignant, absolument.
