In the book. the wife has a really nasty car accident in the 1960s and her husband (Jon Voight's character) has to become her caregiver. I think they even described the car as a Rambler. In the movie, they changed it to a stroke she suffers in the kitchen. No Rambler in the movie. Maybe they couldn't bring themselves to wreck a nice vintage car (although one of the 1920s vehicles still has a wreck). |
