36 minute film made for TV about the rescue of the Fairfields shipyard after bankruptcy with new production, management and union procedures and agreements which later became the (in)famous Upper Clyde Shipbuilders amalgamation, taken from

A very political/propagandist report which was famous for never being broadcast and for being the only film directed by "The Greatest Living Scot"

The final film I'm posting from the Tales from the Shipyard BFI 2-dvd collection. Some of the others have vehicle content, but only casual 1[*] background glimpses and nothing I thought essential.

For someone with a ship fascination, it would be an excellent DVD set and is a worthy tribute which has been expertly compiled to a now vanished industry. But for a casual ship interest it's probably too specialised and repetitive, and one of the less essential BFI compilations.

That's Götaplatsen in Gothenburg. It was the a popular hangout for Raggare with their American cars but it has since been blocked off.
