:wow: Amazing that lots of outside sourced vehicles were assembled in China.

The Chinese government has strict policies to protect the domestic car industry.

Heavy tariffs are imposed on imported cars.

Foreign manufacturers wanting to open factories in China must form joint ventures with Chinese companies, so that Chinese industry will acquire new technology and know-how.

"acquire" has many meanings (if translated in German): http://www.dict.cc/?s=acquire The 16th from top on the list is closest to the reality. The 1st and the 10th definetely not. :/

"Fahrradiebe" in the German title is wrong - spelt with two Ds (Fahrraddiebe - bicycle thieves)

In China market there're two worlds:

One is for low-end, including some mini-vans: /vehicle.php?id=1020765
People buy these, because of the daily use.

And another one is high-end, with lots of foreign luxury cars.
People choose these because they want to show off themselves.
This is why people in China like this brand most: /vehicle_1011219-Maserati-Quattroporte-GTS-M156.html
