 There wasn't a complete boycott of American films before the war, the propaganda ministry banned and censored specific films that were critical.

Hitler screened a (Hollywood) movie every night. ("Der Führer begeistert." Goebbels wrote in his diary after 'Camille' with Greta Garbo.)
