cause they are staff cars of there name giver chancelor Dr. Konrad Adenauer
over a period of 14 years
even when he visited Moscow, he used his own 300

And before that legendary journey (for the common people the most important topic was the finally successful "homecoming of the 10.000", the last POW)
the best trained hard-drinking fellows were meticolously sorted out for this purpose in the politic and diplomatic stuff. This was indeed one reason, why this trip became a big success. No kidding.

In fact this approach became common in Germany for any other official politic or economic trips to Russia for the following decades. No kidding the 2nd.

Looks like the Autobahn shortly behind "Checkpoint Bravo", the border crossing Dreilinden/Drewitz in the Southwest of West-Berlin. In the curve on the left there was for many years this monument with a T-34 Tank: Link to "www.berliner-verkehrsseiten.de"
Later on the T-34 was replaced by a pink snow thrower: Link to "www.corbisimages.com"

in the movie they have shown Adenauer traveling from Cologne to Bonn twice,
would have been nice to use the right lane towards Bonn of todays BAB 555, as this was the original one in 1932
