d'Augusto Genina et, paraît-il, Marc Allégret ("directeur artistique" au générique).

Il semble que Voyage sans espoir de Christian-Jaque en est un remake.

Bon. Alors c'est euh… très mélodramatique. Pas mal filmé du tout (mouvement, lumière, rythme, son) mais le jeu des acteurs n'est pas de l'âge du parlant.

Les femmes, ce sont

Danièle Parola et Josseline Gaël (13 ans !), un peu moins mauvaises que

Pierre Batcheff (ce jeune acteur devait mourir l'année suivante) et Jacques Varennes, au rire "glaçant" hilarant,

ou que Louis Zellas (le capitaine), qui roule des yeux fous dès qu'une femme approche.

Very out-of-date crime story and melodrama. Technically rather good, it's in the acting that stands the wreckage. The step in talkie requires more practice, at that time, for many actors and directors.
