Not a horror movie but the first-ever film to feature the Parker family from the famous stories of Jean Shepherd! Predating A Christmas Story by 7 years with two more TV adaptations in between!![[Image: 2022-12-1813.jpg]](http://pics.imcdb.org/17801/2022-12-1813.jpg) 01/21/23 EDIT: I did say that there were two more adaptations of Jean Shepherd's work between this and A Christmas Story, one of them being The Great American Fourth of July and Other Disasters which is listed under American Playhouse, but the other one is an unaired 1978 TV film also titled The Phantom of the Open Hearth that would have served as a pilot for a potential Parker Family TV show and it does not seem to exist online; all attempts at searching for it bring me back to this 1976 TV movie. -- Last edit: 2023-01-21 15:35:45 |
