 The show is set in Phoenix, AZ area as you can see from the "Phoenix Transit Center" (/vehicle_425622-Honda-Fit-GD.html) and the Scottsdale Police Car (/vehicle_425644-Dodge-Charger.html). There's also an early scene in Las Vegas, NV (/vehicle_425613-Nissan-Versa-C11.html) and a scene set in Los Angeles, CA at the end of the episode.

The California plate appears to be on a late-1960s Buick Skylark. According to http://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/, California EZP265 was on a 1995 Ford Mustang and a 2000 Honda Civic.
