 The locomotive SCRX 3134 is a 1968 General Motors Electro-Motive Division GP40. Originally built for Penn Central (as PC 3118), it has served with many different railroads during its time (WestRail is fictional); SCRX is the reporting mark for Santa Clarita Railroad of California.

This movie is not its only film credit; the same locomotive appeared in the climactic drag race scene in "The Fast and The Furious" (2001): https://cinetrains.wordpress.com/tag/scrx/
