Just saw this tonight and theres lots of 77-78 Plymouth Furys in this!

There must have been 3 total. I only ever saw 3 in any one scene.

This is a movie that must definitely be added in Blu Ray. The older cars were so majestically and cleanly shown :)

Ford_Guy, did you get to go see the film? If so, how was it?

I thought it was great. It was a really strange but effective mix of horror and drama. More than anything I thought that the cast really made this film, particularly the group of younger kids that the story centered around. If you've ever seen Close Encounters of the Third Kind, you'll notice some of the same elements of that film in this one.

Also elements of The Goonies and E.T. Great movie. I didn't notice any "too new" vehicles appearing in the movie by mistake. Filmed in West Virginia. Do we have board members from W.V.?

It was in a way a tribute to Speildberg's earlier works.

Great. I had heard through word-of-mouth that it was really good. I hope to arrange my schedule so I can see it soon.

I have seen Close Encounters of the Third Kind (and E.T.), one of my fave films (along with Jaws) from Spielberg, plus the fact that Richard Dreyfuss is one of my favorite actors doesn’t hurt as he was also in both those films.

I had seen where Spielberg was involved with Super 8, and that it has nods to some of his past works. So I knew it had to be pretty good.

Not a good movie. The characters are soulless. It's boring and slow too. Goonies is so captivating this should never be compared to it or E.T. imo

It was compared to those movies in the sense that some of the same elements are there and Abrams wanted to pay homage to Spieldberg. But they are completely different films, for better or, in your case, worse.

Yesterday I saw the movie in theater, I found it very good :) (except the usual damage made to old cars, in this case the Buick crashing in a Pacer, without counting those damaged just for scenery according comments made on the video posted on the Pacer page)

Anybody going to add this? I can add it as I have it on DVD, but it’s not in HD.

All of the military vehicles in this movie were provided by the American Wartime Museum in Virginia:
http://www.nmaw.org/experience/artifact-vehicle-collections/

According to them, they provided "three Jeeps, four cargo trucks, one M113 Armored Personnel Carrier, two Abbot self-propelled guns, one Walker Bulldog Tank and one Pz 68 Tank." Obviously the Jeep description is generic, not exact. I have contacted them to see if we can get any more specific info on these vehicles.

Well, I just emailed one of the film companies and expressed outrage at the destruction of antique cars and how it is angering many thousands of hobbyists.Anyone wanting to help me with a petition contact me.

I never like to watch movies like these... Todays movies living from complete destruction, I don't know why so many people like this. If they want destruction they should play GTA or something.

Good movie if you're a fan of 1970s cars, like me! :)

I hope it was CGI. Would be a shame to total these classics! :(

Not a single Japanese car in the whole movie? That's odd; weren't Japanese cars pretty abundant by 1979? :??:

Maybe Lilian town was the Battle of the Alamo of the car industry ? :-)

About aircraft, all seen by glimpse throughout the movie, there are too some strange actions.

Not in a small town, nor will they really popular in inner urban cities either.
