Set across the Balkans, starting in Greece and ending in Sarajevo (Bosnia) during the Balkan Wars. IMDb lists the filming locations in: Greece, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Romania, Albania and Macedonia. In one scene the protagonist of the movie (played by Harvey Keitel) went back to the end of the WW2 when he was a kid, as a reenactment of his memories.
