 Year should be 1990 I think - it premiered at a Houston film festival in the spring and was released in the Netherlands on video in August. Also (although this doesn't mean much) filmed August-October 1989 which would indicate they had their minds set for a 1990 release.

 I've noticed a couple times on these older movies where IMDB says one thing and places that stream them say another. On Amazon it's listed as 1991 so when i updated i didn't check IMDB's date.
