Why does it seem as if Allis Chalmers sponsored the tractors for this one? Can anyone who has seen the credits confirm?

Were the tractors all current models when the film was made?

I just rewatched the credits, no word about Allis-Chalmers...
I guess this is the movie with the most AC!

Gag, they were about as current as you could get as far as I could establish (not being an expert on AC). They sold out to K-H-Deutz AG in 1985, i.e. before the movie was released (and went over to AGCO in 1990, FWIW). The tractors here all seem to be 1980>, therefore the last "real" ACs made.

Garco, please see my comment to Gag above - could that have anything to do with it?

I have read it, but I don't understand what you mean

OK, sorry - not very clear:
*Could* it be that:
- AC was indeed involved in the supply of vehicles for the film in a last-ditch marketing attempt, but that the take-over caught up with them and the credits scrapped?
- Deutz was keen to sustain the market position of AC (did KHD get any credits maybe?)

I know I am wildly speculating due to an hyperactive imagination, but there has to be a reason behind all the tractors in a movie being of one brand (in its death-throes)... ?

No, Deutz (KHD) was also not named in the credits.
But you're theory could be right though?

I still find it hilarious that the dealership sign has IH on it.
