I remember the breaking news of this explosion-catastrophe at the evening of the 11.July 1978. I was playing with my brand new Märklin-railway. I got it on the same day, my 8th birthday.

Good captures Carchases! There are lots of nice seventies cars in this movie, although they made a few mistakes..

Many Gernans, Belgians and Holland tourists died.

See a true picture of what we call the Los Alfaques catastrofy, much worser than the movie

Well i think ive finsihed, this movie, as Yvon says, is based on a true story, on 1978 a truck overloaded with liquid propilen exploded when it was pasing near the Los Alfaques Camp Site, it exploded and the explosion burnt the whole Camp site instantlly killing hundreds of people, the explosion was so big and fast that many people died in the posisition they had in that moment (playing cards, sat on a chair, lying on the sand etc...).

Even people that run to the water got killed due to the high temperature the water reached, the wikipedia article states that a total of 217 people died that day and the following days, there were many German people and many Belgians, hence why this is known in those countries.

Since this happened, trucks carrying dangerous loads cant go through cities or towns.

The spanish article of Wikipedia is quite complete, unlike the english one, ill leave it here anyway.

By what is possible to see - since they seem to have headrests and with this rear bonnet - I think they are 1977+ 1200 L models or even 1979/81 Mexican-built cars ( for 1982 they lost the engine lid vents ). I'm not sure about their colours, but giving the date of this TV series they may have been repainted.

Then do i regroup them with any other already listed or shall i create a new page for them?

That must be a sad birthday, I´m so sorry Ingo :(

@carobserver: not really, I was small and my family had no personal relations to that place or to people, who have been there.

So it was just a catastrophe-news among a lot of others. It's just one, where I'm remembering, what I have done to that time, like for example Chernobyl, the open Berlin Wall or the 11.Spetember 2001.

I lived near the Camp in Vinaroz at the time of the disaster. We could see the smoke rising in the sky, terrible. My neighbour had a bus,a VanHool (Barreiros-engined I think), and volunteered inmediately to carry the less-wounded and families in his vehicle to the hospitals in Valencia.
