Now we are in the days of remake everything and make movies without good stories, it's almost like in the last few years the intelligence level of people in Hollywood has dropped.

 1st, red one is a Honda Civic ( and in front what looks like a new 1982 Cavalier )
2nd, Civic wagon is the only one i'm sure of
3rd , silver is a late 70's Pontiac ( Catalina ? ) and blue is a Mustang

 In the novelization of the film, Steven drove a Ford Country Squire rather than the Custom Cruiser shown in the film and Diane drove a Datsun, but no Datsun is ever shown in the movie.

Not sure as it's hard to see, but in a few brief shots there is a red car parked next to the Oldsmobile in the house's driveway. The line in the book could be referencing that vehicle.

 I think Poltergeist (1982) is a strange movie because it's rated PG and there's a middle finger scene.
