Plates beginning T are probably Tanzania (or earlier names), U for Uganda, K would be Kenya.

As for the plates, it is only the 1962 Triumph TR4 that I can say for sure is South African - ND used to be the identification for Durban (Natal > Durban) back then.

So then, TJ (/vehicle_531879-Piaggio-Vespa.html) could be "Transvaal - Johannesburg"?

ingo wrote Filming locations?

For sure a lot of scenes of this film come from Kenya and Congo, when other scenes probably come from Tanganyika (now Tanzania), Zanzibar, Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, Angola and South Africa.

Also many scenes are fake, or anyway "not real"...

Andre Malraux wrote Very interesting pictures. I documentary about decolonization?

Yes, it's a sort of documentary about the aftermath of decolonization in sub-saharan Africa and the presumed incapability of black Africans to self-regulate themselves and to rule properly their countries after gaining the independence. The film features scenes, among others, from civil and tribal wars, massacres against white Europeans, cannibalism and poaching, blacks who are unable and/or uninterested to run the farms confiscated to white settlers and so on...

Sounds not really outdated, now, in 2012...

this was filmed in Zanzibar, Tanganyika, Portuguese Angola, Kenya ("White-Highlands" area), Sudan, South Africa, Rhodesia, Rwanda, and Democratic Republic of Congo (not sure of specific locations aside from the Congo segments, filmed at Stanleyville, and Boende)
