After buying the Ronin DVD recently I realised exactly how much better the chases in it are than the ones in most other recent Hollywood films, take the chase in this film, it wasn't bad but there was so much editing (too many shots of Bourne changing gear and putting his foot down) and shakey camera movement instead of raw speed and stunt driving, the cars never seemed to be going faster than 50 mph, whereas the cars in Ronin did well over 100 mph in places. It's like a lot directors doing action films have been affected by Michael Bay syndrome, where everything is edited to within an inch of its life and shots never last longer than a single second.

I was quite disappointed for this chase of "Bourne Supremacy". As you said, way too much editing and camera movement :(
I liked the chase in the first movie, and of course the chase in Ronin :)

I find myself agreeing with you antp, on a regular basis. I really did not like the fast camera movement in this chase. I really had a hard time figuring out what was going on. The chase with the BMW driving the wrong way on the highway in Ronin is absolutely amazing. I think the Bourne Identity is much more of a solid film. We will have to wait and see for the third upcoming Ultimatum.

I replaced/added pictures from the DVD.

It seems that CarChasesFanatic & I are not the only ones to add a "no?" instead of "isn't it?" to transform a sentence into a question:

I just have seen the movie on TV. I like it, that the locations were mainly correct without disgusting cobbled lookalike-locations. O.k., mainly without them. There was a tiny scene set in Amsterdam, when the CIA-girl was picked up, which was in Berlin (to identify by the houses in the background). And the supermarket-scene, set in Moscow, was also in Germany (to identify by the floor-tiles and the water-crates ;) )

 I'm wondering, if the chase-scene in the tunnel wasn't also filmed outside of Russia, probably in Germany, too. We don't have these Volga's on the market, but the other involved and smashed cars aren't typical for Russia. The range, the mix hadn't fit. VW Polo, Opel Corsa TR, Nissan Micra are not so common in Russia.

I remember reading in a book about the locations of various movies, that the chase was shot in Moscow and Berlin.

Gag Halfrunt UK

The interior of the tunnel was filmed in Berlin. They also used Karl-Marx-Allee for some Moscow scenes - the FSB guy staggering out of the nightclub - note the yellow Berlin bus, and also I think a few bits of the car chase.

You almost did. German businessman Horst Roland Esche in early 00's desperately tried became Volga trader in Europe. He started from 3111 Volga (pretty cute), but new masters of plant screw the production, then he tried with 3110 and 31105 (fugly cans)... I saw some interview with him in late 00's, he kinda lost enthusiasm... and money. Volga in this movie could be one of his.

I remember seeing a German website that claimed to be a Volga importer, and it's Herr Esche's.
http://www.volga-auto.de/

Here's an interview with him in German:

@3loader: There's a dead link on Esche's site to a page about "Volgas für "The Bourne Supremacy"" so you might be right.

Ah, Jesche, not Esche is the correct name. Obviously his business ran out. The newest datas on the homepage are from 2005 and if you google, you find comments from that years in some forums and about himself nothing than Facebook-stuff. One of the only two (just planned?) contract-dealers says nothing about the import of Russian cars ( http://www.indestra.de/ueberuns.htm ), the other doesn't exist any more (http://www.ostblockfahrzeuge.de/)

And I've never ever seen any 1989+ Volga in Germany, only the older left-overs from the DDR. The cars on the linked homepage have all red dealer's plates, noone a real regstration. So what is written on the page "For all the cars, we are offering, you can get a registration in any EU-country" was obviously not the complete truth...

Maybe it was the only chance for him to get rid of them. So like /movie_17136-Metropolis.html for example.

My mistake, in my sources was no name in German. I saw tv-interview in late 00's, and his business ran out. Poor guy... Those 3111 had impressive look, something really modern since 3102. But all those Putin's top-managers like Deripaska, ruin everything. And now theres no Volga producing anymore.

Some deleted parts from the final chase are shown in the trailer.

1: Bourne hits a police car (which is shown blocking the road in the final cut but then disappears).
[Image: b5.jpg] [Image: b6.jpg]
2: Extra footage of the FSB cars (W124) chasing, shooting and crashing into Bourne (which also explains the dissappearance of one of them during the chase in the final cut)
[Image: b9.jpg] [Image: b3.jpg] [Image: b4.jpg] [Image: b1.jpg] [Image: b2.jpg]
3: Bourne jumps through a fence and crashes into a truck (already listed as "only in trailer" vehicle)
[Image: b7.jpg] [Image: b10.jpg] [Image: b8.jpg]

Finally, this video from Youtube looks a lot like a deleted scene from the movie because of the cars involved, the lack of traffic and the apparently suicidal behaviour of the G-Class driver; but it is not confirmed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5A4WJj0uWTc

When there being chased in Goa, India, and Bourne asks how far, Marie responds 100 meters, in that moment, there's a blink and you'll miss it yellow Mini Cooper.
Here's the scene

It happens at 1:45, and it happens fast. Now I'm not so sure it's a Mini upon closer inspection. Someone else confirm.

It's there: https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=2266758076680916 It's around 2:53. It seems they intended for the ZiL to t-bone the FSB W124 and Bourne's Volga, but for some reason they reshoot the scene with the Magirus truck

Actually is there a chance that this is the Mercedes video mentioned? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjrMjl_B1-E at 8:19?

It may be better to add some screenshots in the site in case Youtube gets weird again and deletes the video:
