So, are we using only cars they own, or are we using cars customers bring in?

Because Cassandra Peterson/Elvira brings in her 1959 Thunderbird for repairs and has the trunk upholstered like a coffin.

I think it should be all cars. Especially any car people can ID in Danny's collection. They dont show that enough.

There's a Chevelle in his collection, plus a GTO they restored that Danny kept.

These images really need to be organised. Some vehicles have been listed twice whereas others that have appeared in multiple episodes are only listed as 1 stars.

1 star means it has no actual role, that does not mean it appears only once

Silnev AU

2014-09-04 00:57

Then that makes the rating for half the cars here completely wrong. Some of the 1 star cars are either the same car as another car and have been listed twice. Or they're cars were bought (or at least attempted to be bought) by Danny.

If you want specific examples the 1962 C1 appeared once where Danny tried to buy it from the owner, they took it around the block but that was it, yet it gets 3 stars. Whereas the 1970 Mustang and the 1971 Cadillac were both cars that were bought by danny, modified by the shop then sold (danny kept the caddy) but yet they get 1 star.

There are cars that are a part of Danny's collection that appear in multiple episodes yet they only have 1 or 2 stars when cars that appeared in one episode has 4 stars? Whoever gave the ratings to the cars in the show either hasn't watched it before or has only seen bits and pieces.

If they weren't seen used by the guy, 1-star is right.
But for the one just driven shortly 2-star rather than 3-star seems more right.

The site and the ratings were originally made for movies, not really for shows like this, so it is sometimes difficult to find something that matches the site's system.
But it is quite possible that this show has many errors in the roles of the cars...

Silnev AU

I'm gonna go back and watch early seasons to find any cars we've missed also to check whether or not some car roles are incorrect. There are some cars that are still getting listed twice but for the moment can we have these two cars changed /vehicle_828200-Ford-Bronco-1967.html http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_828189-Harley-Davidson-1950.html from 5 star to 3 star on the basis that neither vehicle is "part of the movie" or "used a lot by a main character for a long time".

TommyGun - Your ratings for cars for this show are way too high. You have two 5-star listing among the entries today. Those should be reserved for iconic vehicles, that define a movie or show. I have never seen a reality-TV show with any 5-star vehicles. I use the following guidelines for determining ratings for TV Shows:

5-Stars - Iconic vehicles that are part of the show (eg. Rockford Files' Firebird/Magnum PI's Ferrari/A-Team's Van)
4-Stars - Vehicles used by major characters over many episodes
3-Stars - Vehicles used by characters in multiple scenes in one episode or by minor characters in a few episodes
2-Stars - Vehicles used in one scene of one episode
1-star - Background vehicles/Parked cars

For most shows like this, the rating should probably never be higher than 3-stars, as most of the showcased cars are only seen in one episode. The only vehicles that might be 4-stars are ones used by the cast in multiple episodes.

Please revise the ratings before anything will be approved.

TommyGun wrote Why are you removing my submits lately?

You keep over-rating the vehicles. I left you a message above that has been ignored. If you are not going to follow instructions, your submissions will not be approved. There should be no 5-star vehicles for a show like this. Please read the guidelines above and resubmit the vehicles with correct ratings.

First I didn't see your message until the other day when I accidentally read it. There was no notification.
Second, the guidelines here say something different:

***** The vehicle is part of the movie
**** Vehicle used a lot by a main character or for a long time
*** Vehicle used by a character or in a car chase
** Minor action vehicle or used in only a short scene
* Background vehicle

As it's not a movie but a series, when the car/bike is the main restoration project I saw it as "part of the movie". The rest of the ratings were pretty accurate imo.
It's a pretty vague concept anyways, I don't see why you are so strict on this rating at all. Isn't easier to change the rating that delete the submissions anyway? If you want people to contribute please appreciate they're work. Thanks.

Unfortunately we can't send individual messages to posters, so the only way to reach out to you is leaving you a message here. As you stated, you didn't see my previous message, which is why I took the action I did, to get your attention, which it did. I agree, the way the ratings are listed under the help section are vague, which is why I gave more details. A 5-star rating is given out to vehicles that are so important to the movie/show, that without it, the whole nature of the movie/show would be completely different. It's a rating for the Dukes of Hazard Charger, Smokey and the Bandit's Trans Am, Rockford Files's Firebird, etc. The cars are "part of the show", without them, the shows change. The car is literally a character. For a non-fiction series like this one, none of these cars are so important they deserve 5-stars. Most are only seen for one episode, then never seen again. I apologize for deleting the entries, and will not delete future ones now that you have seen the message, I just ask that you rate them properly. Thanks.

The way I see it the following should be changed:

All 4 stars cars should be changed to 3 stars. They are mainly project cars and appear in only one or two episodes and even then the car themselves barely appear in the episode themselves. I mean compared to something like Pimp my Ride or Overhaulin the "project cars" get barely little screen time and are definitely not used a lot by a main character. Furthermore /vehicle_826319-Chevrolet-Monte-Carlo-1972.html http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_842222-Meyers-Manx.html should be deleted as they are relisting of /vehicle_795744-Chevrolet-Monte-Carlo-1972.html and /vehicle_833187-Meyers-Manx.html respectively (those two entries should be upped from 2 stars to 3 since both do become project cars).

/vehicle_721946-Chevrolet-Corvette-1962.html Should be changed from 3 stars to 2 since it's a car the main characters try to buy but ultimately don't. The rest of the 3 star cars are fine.

Apart from the afformentioned Manx and Monte Carlo the majority of the 2 star cars should stay the same. These cars mostly fall into the category of "cars that are tried to be bought or bought by the shop to be modified later". The only exception would be /vehicle_529404-Chevrolet-Task-Force-1955.html which should be bumped up to 4 stars. The reasoning being is that it is one of four vehicles that are used a lot by a main character for a long time, the Chevrolet in particular is owned by the owner of the shop and appears in a lot of episodes usually when they're cruising vegas looking for cars to buy.

The majority of the one star cars are fine however there are some that should be changed. /vehicle_725435-Cadillac-Coupe-DeVille-1960.html Should be changed to two stars, /vehicle_730647-Cadillac-Coupe-DeVille-1969.html should be deleted as it's already been listed, /vehicle_730644-Cadillac-Fleetwood-Eldorado-1971.html should be changed to three stars as it was a project car, /vehicle_730640-Chevrolet-Task-Force-3100-3104-1955.html should be deleted as it's already been listed, /vehicle_725452-Ford-Mustang-1970.html should be changed to 3 stars as it was also a project car, /vehicle_730645-Lincoln-Continental-Mark-V-1977.html should be deleted as it's already listed and finally /vehicle_528713-GMC-Blue-Chip-S-Series-1955.html should be changed to 4 stars as it is used a lot by a main character for a long time.

In any case those are imo the ratings that should be changed.

I'm adding some cars for season 7, if the quality of the shots is not good enough, or someone has already claimed this series and I just didn't see it. Let me know and I will delete. :)

Some cars only seen briefly, not worth their own pages, except Horny Mike's Black Challenger, I just don't have a good enough image of that one yet.

I one episode Big Ryan and Ryan Evans are going to check some car and they are going in this black car. I've absolutely no idea what it could be, but it looks really cool. Anybody knows? It's also customized probably.

'69 Checker Aerobus turned up last night. Danny seemed almost tempted to buy it, despite claiming to not want it when they pulled up.

Thank you. As I searched on Google, it could be really either Blazer (Link to "www.2040-cars.com") or Tahoe (https://pin.it/xsph4vvbl3boee).

The Model T Rat Rod from this week's episode is for sale, and isn't really a 1918. It's a retitled '27.

Smyth Kit Cars offer a kit to convert Jettas into pickups; looks like this one was further customized with a GTI front clip. They also have kits for a handful of other cars, including Dodge Charger, Subaru Impreza, and Audi A4.
