It's a coming-of-age movie about a teen who is full of misguided potential. Instead of planning for his future, he is living for the "now".

If you enjoy movies like Breaking Away (1979), Fandango (1985) or other coming-of-age films you may enjoy this film.

 Interesting that the original script called for Sutter to drive a Mitsubishi and his father to drive a "beat-up Wagoneer"
