I was off to the right in the grass. The poor people in the cross walk had to keep walking back and forth each time they had to refilm the scene. Between 1998 and 2000, the Washington Monument underwent extensive renovations. The entire structure was covered in scaffolding, as is visible in this image. The airport is Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, which was officially renamed in February, 1998. Prior to then, it was simply Washington National Airport. The main terminal building was still new at the time this movie was filmed; it opened in 1997, supplementing the older, smaller terminal.
