I am the current owner of the 1971 Stratomist Blue Riviera GS which was used in The Ice Storm. I owned it while the movie was being shot in 1995 and leased it to Fox Searchlight through Picture Cars in Brooklyn, NY. This is in response to the post I read about my car that someone said that they grew up in that particular car and that it started out being a different color. I most definitely assure you that this is not the car you think it is. I bought this car practically from its original owner, the now deceased Bernard Weigel, who sold it to a local car lot in his neighborhood, Jimmys Used Cars, which was located at a gas station in Flushing, NY. They tried to have a collector car dealer in Freeport, NY sell the car on consignment, and upon first seeing it at that location I persuaded them to pull it back and bought it directly from them. What you very well may be thinking of is the double of my car in the movie which was used for all the interior shots only. They had it painted the same exact color as mine, and when I took a trip up to the set in New Caanan, I found it in back of the house they were using to film. It was a bench seat car and I can\'t remember if I even bothered to check the data plate on the firewall to see what the original color was. Anyway, just thought I would set the record straight for you on it. Glad to see the boattails have made very impressive showings in all the films they were used in.

Thanks for visiting this site. :) I've entered you as the owner of that car.
