Referred to in dialogue as "Crazy Cars". The main female character played it on a handheld video game as they were being chased by the cops.

They really played up the chases, but I found them to be rather weak. The various police cars pursued the silver BMW 318i Cabrio, the red 911 Turbo, and the red BMW sedan at separate times. I would not watch the movie just for the chases, actually I wouldn’t recommend it at all. :p

Too bad I've already seen it :D

The chases are exceptional otherwise please do skip the actual film.

You mean they are worth watching Prowler?

I did not think the "chases" were exciting. They were basically just pursuits, not really fast nor any exciting maneuvers. The first one with the 318i Cabrio seemed to be more an attempt at humor with them taunting the police by calling them wankers and giving them the middle finger. The Porsche pursuit was just boring, not even fast. And the one with the red BMW had a spectacular ending, but that was about it. I would not waste the time on this one.

Well we like watching them all to have our own opinion about any chase, but if you say so i guess you might be right, but i really want to know what Prowler wants to mean by saying they are "exceptional".

It's a film written and directed by Paul Wanker.Shithead Anderson. That's enough reason to not watch it.

It looks like one of the crappier Brit crime films of the 1990s, with the old rogues gallery of "hot British talent" which meant Jude Law (always thought he was overrated), Sadie Frost (where is she now?) and Sean [son of Jon] Pertwee. I guess Jonny Lee Miller, Rhys Ifans and some of the others were unavailable for this one.

The chase scenes, as I remember, shares the same atmosphere as the second tunnel chase scene in Ronin. The camera was always locked on a certain position or rotated around the speeding car. Though short as they were, the one that stood out for me was the race scene between the BMW and Ford. Lots of speed and skidding around abandoned highways and parking lots. Does this answer your question CCF?

The only reason to watch this movie is Sadie Frost and her sexy tough-girl cockney accent :)

I actually think the film would have been alright if they would have binned Jude Law and made Sadie talk with her own accent.

It's a great film, but the script is weak.

She was actually supposed to be from Northern Ireland in the film, although her accent wasn't the best.

Supposedly filmed in London according to imdb, but many plates are non-UK combinations and should be yellow (not white) on rear.

Most of it was filmed around Kensington and docklands, I think.

I always thought the plate combinations was a way of not dating the film and giving it a 'futuristic' edge but I could be wrong.

It's incredibly dated and rather cheap looking. Looks like it wants to be an American "cyberpunk" movie. In retrospect, it's quite amusing because at the time they probably thought it looked like the epitome of everything modern and "cool" in youth culture of the mid 90s, with electronic dance music playing repeatedly and Billy Joel and Dire Straits being lambasted as dated and shit.

The car chases are weak and the destruction is minimal. All of the cars crashed are first generation Sierras which were just beginning to get scrapped during the time this was shot. They "burn" a Porsche but it's obvious they only set fire to an instrument panel and steering wheel.
